Allesio Celebrano

Alessio grew up in Italy and moved to the U.S. at the age of 30 in the fall of 2015. Back in the

motherland, music always played a big role in his upbringing. He learned how to play piano (not

well) when he was a kid, played trombone and tuba in the town brass band during high school

and then picked up the electric bass and played that for 10 years in various rock bands.

When he moved to the States, he pursued a career in the fire service here in AZ and was

offered a position with the City of Surprise Fire Department in January of 2017 where he’s been

working since. As soon as he was off probation, he inquired about playing with the pipes and

drums as he was yearning to play again. The band needed a snare drum and he always wanted

to play percussion so that was the perfect opportunity!

He spent time learning from the best in the AZ fire service p&d band, playing at various events

and discovering more about the great tradition of piping and drumming in the fire service. He

then joined the Glendale Pipes and Drums in 2020 to learn even more and push towards the

competitive world of pipes and drums. He competed for 2 years, first in the grade 5 and then the

grade 4 in the 2023 season.
